TAREK SHERIF
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Medidata Solutions Worldwide

A founder of Medidata Solutions, Tarek has served as chief executive officer since 2001 and chairman since 2009. Under his management, Medidata Solutions has become the world’s leading provider of cloud-based solutions to the life sciences industry, focused on improving outcomes and bringing greater productivity to clinical development. New York City-based Medidata completed a successful IPO in June 2009 and today is the leading global technology company supporting clinical trials in more than 115 countries.

Prior to Medidata, Tarek was the managing member of a partnership focused on public and private investments in technology and life sciences companies. Previously, Tarek co-managed a privately held equity fund specializing in publicly traded technology companies, including those in the healthcare and information technology fields. He has also served as assistant vice president of corporate finance at General Electric Capital Corporation and was a mergers and acquisitions analyst at Brown Brothers Harriman & Company.

Tarek received his BA in economics from Yale University in 1984. Tarek graduated from Columbia Business School in 1991, where he earned a degree in business administration and finance. He currently is a board member of the Partnership Fund for New York City and is chairman of Blue Legacy International, a not-for-profit organization focused on restoring our wetlands.

GLEN DE VRIES
President, Medidata Solutions Worldwide

Glen is one of the founders of Medidata Solutions and the original architect of the Medidata Rave® system. Since the company's inception, Glen has been responsible for driving Medidata's technology vision and the delivery of a growing platform of cloud-based clinical solutions, inspiring the growth of the organization’s world-class development team and building the company's critical sponsor and partner relationships. Under his leadership, Medidata is leading the transformation of the industry’s approach to clinical development and helping to define the future state of life sciences.

Prior to his work with Medidata Solutions, Glen’s pioneering efforts in online physician/patient relationships included over 10 years of experience in medical software development, including electronic health records and consumer-targeted products. As a research assistant at Columbia University, he focused on both research science and medical informatics, working on a blood assay for the detection of micro-metastases in prostate cancer patients and creating a paperless CDM system. His peer-reviewed papers have been published in Applied Clinical Trials, Cancer, The Journal of Urology, Molecular Diagnostics, Urology and Urologic Clinics of North America.

Glen received his BS in molecular biology and genetics from Carnegie Mellon University and also studied probabilistic algorithms at the Courant Institute of Mathematics (New York University). In addition to authoring issued patents for clinical trial innovations, he has received many accolades for his industry commitment, including FierceBiotech’s Top Ten Biotech Techies in 2012, the PharmaVOICE 100 Most Inspiring People in 2006, Crain’s New York Business 40 Under 40 of 2010, and the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award for the metro New York area in both 2006 and 2010. He is chairman of the board for Dancing Classrooms, a not-for-profit organization that seeks to cultivate essential life skills in children through the practice of social dance.

CARLOS DOMINGUEZ
Senior Vice President, Office of the Chairman of the Board and CEO, Cisco Systems, Inc.

Carlos has served on Medidata Solutions' board of directors since 2008. He is a Senior Vice President in the Office of the Chairman of the Board and CEO at Cisco Systems, under John Chambers. He speaks frequently to audiences worldwide on the impact the Internet and technology are having on our lives, and the importance of collaboration, social networking and video – and why every company should pay attention to the large and emerging group of millennials, or Generation Y.

Before joining Chambers' office, Carlos led Cisco's Worldwide Service Provider Operations, playing a key role in shaping the SP business strategy and helping to grow SP to approximately 46% of Cisco's overall business. During his leadership, U.S. Service Provider sales grew from $500 million to a $2.5 billion business. Prior to Cisco, Carlos held various executive roles at Timeplex Inc, and New Jersey Bell/Bell Atlanticom.

Carlos is a frequent speaker at industry conferences such as HIMSS, Venture Atlanta and Cisco Networkers and has been recognized as one of the top 50 Hispanic executives in the U.S. by Hispanic Engineering and Information Technology magazine. Carlos serves on the board of directors for Communities in Schools of New Jersey, National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering and YMCA of greater New York.

NEIL KURTZ M.D.
President, Chief Executive Officer, Member of the Board of Directors, Golden Living

Neil has served on Medidata Solutions' board of directors since 2002. He is also currently the president, chief executive officer of Golden Living, a leading provider of long-term care.

Prior to joining Golden Living, Neil was the president and CEO of TorreyPines Therapeutics Inc., a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, as well as president of Ingenix Pharmaceutical Services, a division of UHG, and a member of the UHG Executive Board. Additionally, he co-founded Worldwide Clinical Trials, a contract research organization, where he held the positions of president and chief executive officer until its acquisition by United Health Group in 1999. Neil held various senior positions with Boots Pharmaceuticals, Bayer Corporation, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Merck. He currently serves on the board of NeurogesX, a specialty pharmaceutical company.

Neil has consulted more than a dozen pharmaceutical companies and served as member of the faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut and the University of California, Los Angeles. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from New York University and an M.D. from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

GEORGE MCCULLOCH
Partner, Level Equity Management

George is currently a partner of Level Equity Management, LLC, a private investment firm he co-founded in July 2009. Prior to founding Level Equity, George was a partner at Insight Venture Partners, a $3 billion private equity and venture capital firm focusing on the global software and Internet industries. George joined Insight in 2002 and was previously an Associate at Summit Partners from 1999 to 2002.

George holds a B.A. in History from Stanford University.

LEE SHAPIRO
Advisor to the President & CEO, Allscripts

Lee has been a consultant to Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc., a provider of innovative technology solutions, since December 2012. He previously served as the president of Allscripts from 2001 to December 2012.

Prior to joining Allscripts, Lee was the chief operating officer of Douglas Elliman-Beitler, a commercial office management and development company, where he directed all business activities throughout the United States. His career also includes serving as president of SES Properties, Inc., and vice chairman of City Financial Bancorp and practicing commercial law at Barack, Ferrazzano, Kirschbaum, Perlman & Nagelberg. Lee was also appointed to the Economic Recovery Commission of the State of Illinois during its seating in 2009-2010. He holds a J.D. degree from the University of Chicago Law School.

Lee brings to our board of directors significant experience in directing strategic initiatives at a global public healthcare technology company, including mergers and acquisitions, international expansion, business development and partnerships, and business activities in the areas of analytics and information services. Our board of directors also benefits from his experience serving on the boards of private and not-for-profit companies, including Physicians Interactive Holdings, LLC and the Gastro-Intestinal Research Foundation.

ROBERT B. TAYLOR
Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation

Bob has served on Medidata Solutions' board of directors since April 2008. He is the senior vice president for finance and administration for The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, a nonprofit, tax-exempt, educational organization in Williamsburg, Virginia.

In addition, Bob serves on the board of directors and as chair of the audit committee for Zygo Corporation, a worldwide supplier of optical metrology instruments, precision optics and electro-optical design and manufacturing services. He is also a member of the finance committee for the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, a member of the board of directors of the Williamsburg Community Health Foundation, as well as chair of its investment committee and a member of its finance committee.

Prior to joining The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Bob served as vice president and treasurer of Wesleyan University and as a staff accountant for Ernst & Young. Bob holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from St. Lawrence University.
