STEVEN HIRSCHFELD
Executive Vice President, Global Sales & Alliances
Steve brings more than 20 years of broad-based sales and management experience in healthcare and technology related fields to his position of executive vice president of global sales and alliances at Medidata Solutions. Steve is responsible for creating and maintaining superior client and partner relations, building and directing the company’s global sales force, and implementing the necessary processes for the achievement of the company’s revenue goals and objectives.
Prior to joining Medidata Solutions, Steve served as vice president of sales at I-Many, where he played in integral role in transforming the organization into the leading contract management and trade relationship management software company, culminating in a successful initial public offering in July 2000. Previously, Steve spent five years at the Janis Group as a business development executive where he launched and managed several of JGI’s emerging business units and directed the corporate marketing department. At Janis, he helped evolve the single-product company to a world-class systems integrator with multi-vendor, complete solution offerings for the industrial middle market.
Steve received his B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Delaware in 1984.

GRAHAM BUNN, Ph.D.
Vice President, Global CRO Partnerships
As Vice President of Global CRO Partnerships at Medidata Solutions, Graham coordinates and manages relationships with various contract research organization (CRO) partners in the sales and delivery of Medidata products and services. By managing and providing implementation for Medidata's ASPire to Win™ program, Graham works with regional and global CROs to help them become Medidata Rave-certified, generate new revenue streams and leverage Medidata's position in the marketplace.
As an early pioneer of EDC technologies, Graham brings more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Medidata Solutions, Graham held a variety of executive and senior level positions at Quintiles, including global vice president of e-clinical business development, where he successfully implemented e-clinical technology solutions across the organization. Additionally, Graham helped drive EDC implementation and project management and IT infrastructure, applications and customer business solutions at Quintiles. With nearly six years of experience within the pharmaceutical software industry, Graham has also acted as global vice president of business IT at Clinsoft Ltd. (Domain Pharma) and has worked in pre-sales at BBN Software Products.
Graham is a member of the Electronic Data Management Forum, the Drug Information Association (DIA) and is actively involved in the European CDISC Coordinating Committee (E3C). He has chaired and presented at many industry seminars on EDC, e-clinical and IT, and has written articles for pharmaceutical industry publications on successful e-clinical implementation.

ALAN MATEO
Vice President of Sales, Global
Alan brings over 25 years of experience in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to his position as Vice President of Global Sales at Medidata Solutions. His experience in ERP systems includes deployments at industry-leading companies such as Corning, Pfizer, Bausch & Lomb, and Bayer.
Alan has worked in a wide range of positions within the software application industry including systems analyst, implementation consultant, project manager, industry analyst, and most recently group sales vice president. Alan joined Medidata Solutions in March of 2005 after 11 successful years at PeopleSoft where his responsibilities included product lines sales, operations and integration of the acquisition of JD Edwards into PeopleSoft’s global sales organization. Prior to PeopleSoft, Alan was Northeast Sales Director for Red Pepper, a provider of supply chain management (SCM) planning application software, and Major Account Executive at JD Edwards where he contributed to 5 years of exceptional growth.
His responsibilities at Medidata Solutions include sales of software and services in the Americas and the development of the Japanese market.

STEVE HEATH
Vice President and Head of EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa/Australia)
Steve is responsible for our activities both commercial and operationally within EMEA for Medidata Solutions.
Having originally trained as a physiologist, Steve spent some years as an educator before joining Beecham Pharmaceuticals in the mid-1980s. Steve has wide familiarity of selling and implementing LIMS, chromatography data handling, clinical data management, clinical project management, safety and adverse drug reaction reporting systems plus extensive experience in the area of ePRO (electronic patient reported outcomes) and EDC (electronic data capture). He has held a variety of senior level managerial positions; Steve was Vice President Europe and Australasia at Clinsoft, SVP (Global) Operations at InferMed and more recently VP International at invivodata inc; in all three positions Steve was responsible for sales and operational delivery of these solutions. Steve also spent time helping establish a Life Sciences practice at Origin UK.
Steve has a BSc from the University of Sheffield and a Masters degree from the University of London.

JOE TYERS
Senior Vice President, Sales Operations and Knowledge Management
As Vice President, Sales Operations at Medidata Solutions, Joe oversees global sales support activities including lead generation, inside sales and delivery of product and services capabilities presentations. Prior to Joe's current role, he served as SVP, Operations responsible for global delivery after joining the firm in early 2003 as Vice President, Professional Services.
Joe has more than 25 years of experience in directing application software consulting, project management and sales support organizations at ERP, Contract Management and Business Intelligence application providers. Prior to joining Medidata Solutions, Joe served in a strategic sales support role at Business Objects Americas, as a Vice President & General Manager at I-many, Inc., a leading provider of contract management solutions for healthcare and consumer product companies and as a Professional Services Director a JGI, Inc., supporting several ERP technologies.
Joe started his career in Information Technology as a developer and systems analyst and then managed international Production & Inventory Control operations at a leading multi-national consumer goods manufacturer.
Joe received his degree in Information Technology from Northampton County College.
